Fighting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Often times the hardest task someone with PTSD can do is to talk about their past. Words have a great deal of power, but we can take back that power by speaking them over and over.  Their families can live in fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and causing pain and flashbacks. Veterans don't know how to share their story to civilians that have never been in their shoes, so they avoid talking about their issues even more.

Our counselors and creative writers will explore some of the darkest parts of their past and help them create a narrative to their story that both communicates their struggle to their families and gives them an outlet to read and reread their story until it has no more power over them.

To illustrate their book we will use  images from a photoshoot that helps and honors our heroes for their service.
